It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of our founders, Don and Patti Hewlett. While it’s been several years since they fully retired, there are still a few of us here at the dealership who worked alongside of our founders, including me.
If one were to look up “All-American Couple”, Don and Patti’s photo would be there. The two of them met very early in life, dated in high school and got married shortly after. The love they had for one another was second to none and it was obvious to everyone - even some 70+ years later.

Obviously, we shop for pre-owned vehicles for various reasons. The first of which may be the cost savings from new vehicle prices. Sometimes we just need transportation that’s reliable and we don’t have an affection toward the newest, latest, and greatest gadgets. I think the initial answer to that question, if posed to the public is likely “no, never thought of it”. Why? Many reasons come to mind, maybe starting with the brand’s reputation from yesteryear. Yes, Buick has been around for many years and through those years, the appeal has moved from one generation to another and sometimes generations in between.
Today’s Buick falls in what I would call an “all generations appeal”. Buick has totally transformed their offerings to SUVs only. They no longer produce passenger cars. The SUV lineup for Buick consists of four different models and each of those models has their own appeal that covers all generations and demographics. We all know that it is inconvenient dealing with car problems during your already busy schedule. At Don Hewlett, we’re hoping to simplify the process and quickly determine what the problem is. In most cases, we can let you know where the trouble lies in one workday.
All you need to do is:

A headline like that would imply that someone has a lot of Silverados. Yes, it’s true, someone does have a lot of Silverados and that someone is us. Don Hewlett Chevrolet has nearly 300 Silverados including half ton and heavy-duty models! There are many different powertrains and trim levels available from basic to loaded, 2WD to 4WD and all versions of cab sizes.

TIPS TO PREVENT HEAT RELATED BREAKDOWNS
Texas summers continue long past Labor Day, often lingering into October. Long summers mean hot temperatures and after a while, hot temperatures can wreak havoc on your vehicle’s performance.
1. Check all vehicle fluids. Hot temperatures can cause added strain on your car’s systems so be sure to check the oil, coolant, transmission fluid, windshield wiper fluid, and brake fluid in your car regularly to be sure they are at the proper levels.
2. Check your car’s temperature gauge.
If the light comes on, or the thermometer enters the red zone, you should safely pull over. Driving even a short distance with an overheated engine can cause damage, and possibly lead to expensive repairs. If you find yourself in this situation, wait for the engine to cool completely before driving. Do not try and...

What a whirlwind these past couple of years have been. Microchip shortages, global supply chain disturbances, trucking industry hiccups, you name it, we’ve all faced it.
