2018 GMC Terrain

GMC Terrain SL

The GMC Terrain SL is the base trim. It runs on a 1.5L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that gets 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque.

It’s been equipped with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) to help it get a more powerful and efficient performance. This gives it a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 pounds.

Working with this engine is an electronically controlled 9-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift.

Inside you’ll find seating for five with premium stain-resistant cloth seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise controls.

Two screens will give you information during your drive. The first is a 3.5-inch monochromatic driver information center on your instrument cluster that gives you updates on your performance.

The next is a 7-inch Diagonal GMC Infotainment System located on your dashboard. This is where you’ll access everything from entertainment options like Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, to Bluetooth® hands-free phone calls.

It’ll also be your window to what’s behind you. When you’re backing up, this screen will show you a live image from the Rear Vision Camera System.

During all your drives your interior will be comfortable and quiet thanks to Active Noise Cancellation keeping outside road noises and engine sounds out.
2018 GMC Terrain SL

    GMC Terrain SLE

    The next trim available is the GMC Terrain SLE. It’s powered by the same engine and transmission as the previous trim.

    On the exterior the previously black side mirror caps are now body-color to blend in more. The inside mirror also gets upgraded to an auto-dimming rearview mirror to help with glare from incoming cars.
    2018 Terrain SLE FWD

      GMC Terrain SLE Diesel

      There’s a new standard engine on the GMC Terrain SLE Diesel. It’s a 1.6L Turbocharged 4-cylinder Diesel engine that gets 137 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque.

      It’s also able to tow up to 1,500 pounds, but uses a 6-speed automatic transmission instead.

      When you’re walking up to this trim you’ll notice the now standard black roof rails up top to help you tie on extra cargo. You can also get things going ahead of time with the remote vehicle start feature. 

      If you have any cargo with you, the power programmable liftgate will make loading and unloading easier. 

      Once you’re inside, you and your friends or family can all get comfortable with automatic dual-zone climate control with individual settings for the driver and passenger.

      The front seats also have more comfort settings now that they’re both heated and feature an 8-way power driver’s seat with 2-way power lumbar support.
      2018 Terrain

        GMC Terrain SLT 

        We return to the 1.5L engine and 9-speed transmission on our next trim, the GMC Terrain SLT. 

        The exterior has more of a sleek appearance with chrome accents all around, including silver roof rails. It’s also been fitted with heated power adjustable outside mirrors, with LED turn signals, and driver-side auto-dimming.

        Inside there’s new levels of luxury with perforated leather appointed seating and interior accent lighting.

        Both your display screens get upgraded. The instrument cluster now has a 4.2-inch multicolor enhanced driver information screen, while the infotainment system gets bumped up to an 8-inch screen with standard SiriusXM® Satellite Radio.
        2018 GMC Terrain SLT

          GMC Terrain SLT Diesel

          We return to the 1.6L Diesel engine and 6-speed transmission for the GMC Terrain SLT Diesel trim.

          The interior has extra convenience with a heated steering wheel, 6-way power front-passenger seat with 2-way power lumbar support, and 2-position memory for both the driver’s seat and outside mirrors.

          You also won’t have to worry about finding your keys when you’re holding a lot of cargo. With the hands-free power programmable liftgate, getting into the trunk is easier than ever.
          2018 GMC Terrain SLT

            GMC Terrain Denali

            The final trim is the GMC Terrain Denali. It has the most powerful engine available with a 2.0L Turbocharged 4-cylinder with VVT that gets up to 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

            It also uses the 9-speed automatic transmission, but with the added power, it has a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds.

            The standard leather seats are now fitted with this trim’s unique Denali piping along the stitching, plus the Denali logo on all the front headrests.

            The technology gets an upgrade in everything from infotainment to your driver assistance features.

            Your dashboard now has the 8-inch Diagonal GMC Infotainment System with Navigation and OnStar® Connected Navigation Service.

            More protection and all-around awareness come standard on the GMC Terrain Denali. Every side will be covered with driver assistance features like:

            • Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert
            • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
            • Rear Park Assist
            • Safety Alert Driver’s Seat
