Take Your GMC Terrain Anywhere
When you’re enjoying a maximum available 39 MPG on the highway, you can expect to spend more time exploring the country. The GMC Terrain is built to take you through a variety of different terrains, including off-road trails.
All-wheel drive models feature four different modes, so you can customize to the road conditions you are currently experiencing. When encountering normal everyday driving conditions, the Terrain will stay in front-wheel drive. This mode mechanically disconnects the rear axle to eliminate drag, therefore improving fuel economy.
When it starts to rain or you encounter icy terrain, all-wheel drive mode can activate. This mode will send power to the front and rear wheels to optimize traction.
For extra adventurous drivers, off-road mode will adjust the AWD system to allow for maximum traction and control when navigating over dirt, gravel, and sand.
When equipped with the 2.0L engine, the GMC Terrain has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. With enough power to tow a travel trailer, you want to ensure you stay in control of your trailer at all times. An available tow/haul mode can enhance trailering performance with Trailer Sway Control. You can even navigate difficult terrain as this mode will automatically engage AWD to improve traction.
