Both cabin configurations will allow you to fit six passengers inside and have identical space provided from the front seats. To illustrate how the space inside is distributed in both cabins, we took a look at the specs of the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500.
In the front of both cabins, there’s 43.03 inches of headroom and 44.53 inches of legroom in the 2019 Sierra 1500. The Double Cab has 39.88 inches of headroom and 35.24 inches of legroom for the second-row seats. The Crew Cab provides a little more of a spacious ride for the rear passengers with 40.12 inches of headroom and 43.40 inches of legroom.

    What Box Comes with Each Cabin? 

    The Crew Cab can either be combined with the short or standard box with the GMC Sierra 1500. The short box has a cargo volume of 62.9 cubic feet. The standard box adds more space for cargo with a volume of 71.7 cubic feet. Every 2019 Sierra 1500 Double Cab comes with the standard box.
    With the Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD, there are options for both the standard box, which has 61 cubic feet of cargo volume, or the long box in both the Double and Crew Cab. The long box gives you additional cargo volume with 76.3 cubic feet.

      Choosing the Right GMC Sierra

      - 2019 Sierra 1500 Limited: The easiest of the Sierra trucks to handle, the GMC Sierra 1500 Limited has a length of just 229.4 inches and height of 73.9 inches. This truck is available with just the Double Cab and standard box that has 61 cubic feet of cargo volume. Its standard 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine will produce 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Its towing capacity maxes out at 9,400 pounds.
      - 2019 Sierra 2500HD: You can configure the 2500HD with either the Crew or Double Cab and the standard or long box. Its maximum payload is 3,276 pounds and has a conventional towing capacity of 14,500 pounds. It’s also rated up to 15,400 pounds of towing capacity with the Fifth-Wheel/Gooseneck.
      - 2019 Sierra 3500HD: The 3500HD comes as the Crew Cab with the standard or long box attached to it. The payload capacity of the 2019 GMC Sierra 3500HD is 6,112 pounds. Its conventional towing capacity is 20,000 pounds and Fifth-Wheel/Gooseneck towing capacity is 23,100 pounds.
