OEM vs Aftermarket Parts
Original equipment manufacturer parts, or OEM parts, were forged and fitted by the same manufacturer as your vehicle. Whether you see them listed as OEM, GMC-certified, or genuine GM parts, they were built to give your vehicle a more reliable performance.
Aftermarket parts were not made by your vehicle’s manufacturer. Usually, these parts are produced by third-party manufacturers. While they can usually get the job done and may be a little more affordable, they can’t guarantee that they’ll be as dependable. After all, they’re made to be compatible with a number of cars instead of just your make and model.
If you believe that you get what you pay for and you’re looking to have only the highest quality parts put in your vehicle, OEM is the way to go.
