Vehicle repairs are often best left to expert hands. However, there are quite a few maintenance tasks and repairs that you can done at home. Armed with the proper knowledge and equipment, here are 5 DIY vehicle services you can do in your own garage.

To change your wipers, lift the wiper and locate the tab that helps the wiper lock into the arm. Push it down, and while the tab is depressed, pull firmly, but not too hard to remove the wiper. Repeat the process in reverse to install the new wipers. Wiper Blades

    Oil and Oil Filter

    Changing the oil in your vehicle is one of the easiest DIY maintenance tasks. 1. Elevate your vehicle on jack stands and remove the oil cap. 2. Locate the drain plug on the underside of your oil pan. Place a drain pan underneath. 3. Loosen the bolt with a wrench, but then hand-loosen until the bolt comes out, pulling it out quickly to avoid getting drenched in oil. 4. Next, locate the oil filter (you will likely need an oil filter wrench for this part). Make sure you have a drain pan under this as well. Unscrew slowly and pull off quickly. 5. Once the oil is fully drained, replace the plug, put on a new oil filter and fill it up with fresh oil!  Oil Change

      Battery

      Cleaning your battery of corrosive buildup can improve the connections. It's easy to do, too! Carefully remove battery terminals. Mix baking soda and water, and using the mixture and a wire brush, lightly scrub off the residue from the connections. Use water to further clear off the residue.  Car Battery

        Air Filter

        Replacing the air filter is one of the easiest fixes you can do yourself. Simply locate the plastic cover protecting your filter. Undo the clasps holding it in place and remove the old filter. Clean out the carriage and put the new filter in place.  Air Filter

          Spark Plugs

          Spark plugs are quite easy to replace, but you might want to invest in a special socket that contains rubber holders inside of it. It makes it easier to pull the plugs up and out. 
          1. Locate the spark plugs and remove the rubber caps. 
          2. Remove and replace plugs one at a time, being sure that they are properly seated in their cylinders.
