Overview
The all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer is much different from the TrailBlazer (with a capital B) of old, which ceased production in 2009. The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer is a crossover that fills the size gap between the compact Trax and midsized Equinox. It also features a unique and aggressive exterior design that – believe it or not – took its inspiration from the Camaro.
Despite its smaller size, the Trailblazer is quite comfortable and spacious, with best-in-class rear seat legroom and an abundance of cargo space. Below, we’ll take a look at all of the confirmed details about the 2021 Trailblazer thus far. It’s not available for purchase yet, but it’s expected to come out in the spring of 2020 with a base MSRP under $20,000, which will make it one of the most affordable vehicles in its segment.

Trim Levels
Although most of the trim-specific features haven’t been divulged yet, we do know that there will be multiple trim levels with the usual growing list of standard equipment as you rise through the ranks. There will even be an offroad-specific trim called the Activ, which will show off a two-tone look. The standard and optional amenities will include a good array of active safety technologies, LED lights, roof rails, fog lamps, heated seats, remote start, all-terrain tires, connectivity features, and plenty more.
Mechanical Features
The base engine is a fuel-efficient 1.2-liter turbo three-cylinder putting out 137 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine comes mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and is only available on FWD models. The higher trims upgrade to a 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that ups the horsepower output to 155 and the torque to 174 lb.-ft. This 1.3-liter engine is paired to a CVT on FWD models, while AWD models come with a conventional automatic transmission.
Safety and Technology
As expected, the Trailblazer will offer plenty of advanced multimedia features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Plus, Chevrolet also goes above and beyond by offering a wireless charging pad – a very nice feature for this price point.
The ’21 Trailblazer is sure to have wide appeal, as it comes standard with more top-of-the-line advanced safety features and driver aids than many of its competitors-to-be. All models come standard with driver-assist features like automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, a following distance indicator, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, a rear vision camera, GM’s Teen Driver technology (which lets parents monitor young drivers’ unsafe habits), and a rear-seat reminder so that little ones and pets are never accidentally left behind. Other available safety features include lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, an adaptive cruise control camera, an HD rear vision camera, and OnStar safety and security.
