The 2025 Silverado 1500 offers a range of engine options with varying fuel efficiency. The optional diesel is the most economical, with estimated fuel efficiency of up to 23 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. With four-wheel drive, the diesel's highway efficiency drops to 26 mpg. The gas-powered turbocharged four-cylinder with four-wheel drive is rated at up to 20 mpg city and 22 highway. The 5.3-liter V-8 with four-wheel drive is estimated to achieve up to 16 mpg city and 22 highway. In real-world testing, the 5.3-liter V-8 often outperformed the turbocharged four-cylinder in terms of fuel efficiency. The 6.2-liter V-8 is estimated to achieve up to 16 mpg city and 21 highway, and it also demonstrated impressive fuel efficiency in real-world testing.
