2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Overview
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is a new and upcoming vehicle that is generating a lot of excitement. The team at Courtesy Chevrolet has received many questions from customers, and this Phoenix review aims to answer them with our particular region in mind. For those not yet familiar with the Silverado EV, it is important to note that Chevrolet took a different approach with its new vehicle than Ford. Ford is the other American automaker also releasing an EV pickup, and it essentially created an EV version of its F-150. Chevrolet did not just make an EV version of the Silverado 1500. It determined that doing so would limit the potential of the new vehicle. Instead, it developed a new platform, and the results are impressive. They include 400 miles of range and a maximum towing capacity of 20,000 pounds.

Exterior - Chevrolet Dealer serving Phoenix AZ
The Silverado EV features a modern design that more seamlessly integrates the cab and the bed than a traditional pickup, such as the Silverado 1500, does. The only body configuration available is a four-door crew cab. Some customers have asked if Chevrolet will offer a double cab or even a regular cab, but Chevrolet currently has no plans to do that as far as we know. One of the most innovative features of the Silverado EV exterior is the Multi-Flex bed along with the Multi-Flex tailgate. The bed measures 5 feet 11 inches in its default configuration but can be extended to more than 9 feet with the tailgate up and almost 11 feet with the Multi-Flex tailgate in use.

The Silverado EV will be available in six core trim levels: WT, LT, LTZ, Trail Boss, High Country and RST. WT stands for work truck, and that model will release first. The others will come soon after. Regardless of trim choice, your Silverado EV will feature a cab that seats five and affords headroom and legroom in specifications that are similar to those found in the Silverado 1500. Chevrolet has not yet provided a specific breakdown of the trim level packages, but we do know from the photographs that the WT is hardly as spartan as one may imagine when they hear the term work truck.

Chevrolet Silverado EV Mechanical specs
One of the most common questions that motivated this 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV review is whether the vehicle would be four-wheel drive, and the answer is yes. All models have dual electric motors that power all four wheels. The Silverado EV will support Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 charging connections. Not much is known yet about charging times, but we do know that Chevrolet has said that you can charge 100 miles at a DC fast-charging station in just 10 minutes, which is fantastic.

Powertrain - Chevrolet Dealership near Phoenix AZ
The extended-battery pack that provides 400 miles of range will be optional with the base model and included with the RST and perhaps other trims. The powertrain makes 510 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque. The maximum tow rating will be 20,000 on a properly equipped WT. We do not know the ratings for all models but do know that every Silverado EV will tow at least 8,000 pounds.
Safety - 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV dealer
All models feature a large touchscreen, the latest Chevrolet Infotainment System and a suit of driver-assistance technologies. This includes all of the features modern consumers expect, such as smart cruise control, automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring. The top trim will also have Super Cruise, which is Chevrolet’s semi-autonomous driving mode.
