At Shaheen Chevrolet in Lansing we have hundreds of new Chevrolet models, and one of our favorites for young professionals is the Chevrolet Trax. It's a subcompact crossover that offers more space than the sedan and is still nimble enough to easily drive around busy Grand Rapids. Today we'll do a deep dive on the 2019 Chevy Trax and show off its most exciting features.

Performance & Power

The Chevy Trax is powered by a turbocharged 1.4L EcoTec® engine with 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft torque. With the excess torque you'll definitely notice the difference as you commute from Okemos into the office. Front wheel drive is standard, but for more control and stopping-confidence during the winter, all three trims (LS, LT, and Premier) can upgrade to all-wheel drive.

    Tech Specs: Convenience and Safety

    Because this model is aimed at younger drivers, Chevrolet wanted to make sure the Trax had a strong list of tech features. We're sure you'll be pleased to hear that a 7-inch touchscreen is standard, and with this touchscreen you'll also get Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. These smartphone integrations are becoming more widespread, but there are still many competitors out there who don't offer these features or don't put them on the base trim! Thankfully that's not the case with the 2019 Trax. 

    Some other tech features you'll like are the available 7-speaker sound system by Bose®, the standard 4G WIFI hotspot technology (you'll get the first month or up to 3GB free!), the available power driver seat that helps you get extra comfortable on longer drives, and ability to get turn-by-turn navigation through OnStar Safety & Security.  

    The Trax isn't just fun and games, though, and this entry-level crossover still offers up key advanced safety features for added peace of mind. Beyond Bluetooth for hands-free calling and a backup camera, you can get the following:
      
    • Rear park assist (though parking the pint-size Trax is super easy!)
    •  Side blind zone alert
    • Rear cross traffic alert
    • Forward collision alert
    • Lane departure warning 

    All those technologies are standard on the top trim, and several are available on the LT with the appropriate package upgrade. So, as you can see, the Chevy Trax can support your commutes around Charlotte MI and beyond.  
     

      Interior Details 

      Once you click your seatbelt you'll instantly see the appeal of the Chevy Trax. It has a unique dashboard, available color accents thanks to contrast stitching, and a vibe that doesn't take itself to seriously but also don’t look cheap. There are a few upholstery levels, depending on the trim, so you can get regular and premium cloth, a mix of cloth and leatherette, or full on leatherette. We also cannot get enough of the available two-tone seating with black/gray or black/brandy that look a class-above! 

      If you need to help a friend move out of their East Lansing MI apartment or condo to another part of town, you can tell them to cancel that U-Haul! Well, you'll still need to make a few trips, but with the Trax's 48.4 cubic feet of maximum cargo space, you can easily help them transport their boxes. Plus, your friend might be kind enough to buy you dinner afterward - just sayin'. For less intensive cargo-hauling you can configure the back of your Trax 8-ways to make sure everything fits perfectly.
