Our Mission
At Reichard Buick GMC, we have one clearly stated goal: To get it Reichard the first time. This means that we want to provide you with an exceptional experience from top to bottom, starting even before you step foot into our showroom and carrying on long after you’ve purchased your first vehicle from us. With that goal in mind, it’s our hope that you’ll never need to visit another dealership for any of your automotive needs.
We build our business around three core pillars. In everything we do, we keep in mind the concepts of Excellence, Integrity, and Family. They drive us in our daily tasks and when we think about the big picture, motivating us to do the best job possible for you.
Our Core Values
Excellence
Reichard Buick GMC seeks excellence in every phase of our business. Our staff is composed of excellent people, each one of whom is committed to making sure that your experience is everything it can and should be. Our showroom and lot are stocked with excellent vehicles, ranging from the latest Buick and GMC's to the highest-quality used vehicles around. We want to be excellent in everything we do, from the way we answer your emails and phone calls to the services we provide for your vehicle.
Integrity
Transparency is one of those buzzwords that gets tossed around a lot, but we take it very seriously at Reichard Buick GMC. We want to be as upfront with you as possible in every aspect of your experience, from honest pricing to a genuine care that you get the vehicle that’s right for you. None of us are perfect, but we strive to be more perfect every day, and a big part of that is making sure that you never feel overwhelmed or out of sorts when working with us.
Family
The Reichard family name goes back three generations in the business of selling cars in Dayton, and it includes an extended family of countless customers who have come back for more time and time again and employees who have been with us for more than 30 years. We see our business as both a servant of the Dayton community and a part of it — when you stop in, you’ll be working with your neighbors, and that familiarity is what we want you to feel every time you visit. Furthermore, while you're here at Reichard Buick GMC, there’s a good chance you’ll see founder Gene Reichard in the showroom, so be sure to say hello.
History
The Reichard name has been in the Dayton automotive area for more than 30 years, dating back to when namesake and patriarch Gene Reichard purchased Shannon Buick from the Shannon brothers in 1985. Gene worked for Shannon Buick from the age of 16 washing cars and sweeping floors, working his way up to the position of general manager and the face of the dealership. In establishing Reichard Buick, Gene stands as a testament to the drive and hard work that defines not just Daytonians, but Americans.
Gene’s son Jeff Reichard continued the family’s legacy of hard work, expanding the dealership to new stores. This culminated in 2015, when Jeff purchased what is now Reichard Chevrolet. The Boose family that previously owned the dealership sold to the Reichards because they knew that they would take care of both their employees and customers. And they’ve done just that ever since.
“That dealership has been family operated for 70 years and we don’t plan to change that,” Jeff told the Dayton Daily News in 2015. “The current employees have all done an excellent job of taking care of their customers for years and I want to continue that tradition.”
The tradition of family is strong at Reichard Buick GMC. Though Gene continues to be a presence at the dealership, he’s passed on most of the duties of operations to his son, Vice President Jeff, grandson and used car manager Rhett, and granddaughter Paige. You will likely run into all four of us at some point in your visit!
At Reichard Buick GMC, family is about more than even the Reichard namesake. Everyone from sales, service, parts, finance, and our body shop are a part of an extended family, and so are the countless customers we’ve been proud to serve over the years.
When we say that we get it Reichard the first time, it’s not just a clever turn of phrase. It’s a commitment to excellence, a declaration of integrity, and a devotion to family. It’s what we do, and it’s who we are, and we can’t wait to share it all with you.
