A Guide to Choosing the Best Used Car
One way to save money on a vehicle purchase is to buy used. There are many great used cars out there with a lot of life left in them, some even from the current model year. You'll want to set a budget and possibly even secure financing before stepping onto the used car lot. You should also know what you're looking for, whether that be features, mileage, fuel economy, or space. If you're in the market for a new-to-you used vehicle, here are a few key factors to consider.
Once you have your budget figured out, start to make a list of what type of vehicle you want. There are many different makes and models of vehicles, so it's best to narrow your selection down before shopping. Knowing what you must have in a vehicle is beneficial, so you don't impulse buy. Making a list of your must-haves will prevent you from purchasing a vehicle you might regret later.
Now that you have your vehicle research complete, you will want to start looking for ones that will fit the bill. Before you go to the lot, do some online shopping. The internet can save you a lot of time and hassle. You can compare vehicles in the same class to find one that will fit your budget. You also get a better idea of how much the car you're looking at is selling for, which will help you get a vehicle for the best price.
Once you have your options narrowed down, you will want to take a few for a test drive. If you have a couple of makes and models in mind, take them all for a drive. If you can test drive them all in one location, it may give you a better idea of which model you like best. When you take a vehicle for a test drive, you should drive it in normal driving conditions. That means if you drive on windy, curvy roads, then you should find a windy, curvy road for the test drive.
Now that you have put in all of this time and effort, it's finally time to make a decision. If there's something that needs to be fixed or added to the vehicle, make sure you work that into your deal. In many cases, you don't have to settle for what the sticker price is. And since you did your research, you know what a fair asking price is and can negotiate for that price. Once you feel comfortable with the deal, go ahead and complete the paperwork.

Determine Your Budget
The first thing you will want to look into is your budget. How much are you willing to spend each month on the car payment? You should look at spending no more than 15% of your monthly take-home pay on your car payment. Buying a used car could help you stay within your budget and not break the bank. A car that is just three years old could cost you less than half of the original price and still give you that new car feel.
After you have run the numbers and think you know what you can afford for a payment, you should seek out preapproval from your lender or even apply through the finance department of your local dealership. If you know what you're approved for, the monthly payments, and the interest rate, you'll be a smarter shopper. This will prevent you from purchasing a vehicle that's out of your price range.
Which Vehicle Is Right for You?
Once you have your budget figured out, start to make a list of what type of vehicle you want. There are many different makes and models of vehicles, so it's best to narrow your selection down before shopping. Knowing what you must have in a vehicle is beneficial, so you don't impulse buy. Making a list of your must-haves will prevent you from purchasing a vehicle you might regret later.
First, decide if you want a car, minivan, truck, or SUV based on your family's needs and the vehicle's purpose. Next, think about features that are important to you, including technology and safety. This information will help you narrow down your list of makes and models and possibly even trim levels.
Time to Shop
Now that you have your vehicle research complete, you will want to start looking for ones that will fit the bill. Before you go to the lot, do some online shopping. The internet can save you a lot of time and hassle. You can compare vehicles in the same class to find one that will fit your budget. You also get a better idea of how much the car you're looking at is selling for, which will help you get a vehicle for the best price.
After you have a couple of vehicles in mind, get a car report on each. The history of a vehicle is critical. You want to know if the car has been in an accident, fire, flood, or has any other significant damage. Knowing how many owners the vehicle had, along with their age and gender, can be vital too. The report will also give you information about the title, which provides you with clues about the vehicle's condition and any concerning issues. You will want to make sure that the odometer readings match or receive a reason as to why not.
Another important piece of information that may be available on a car report is the maintenance and service record. This speaks to how well the previous owners maintained the vehicle. A car report might cost you a few extra dollars, but it could save you from purchasing a nightmare.
Take a Test Drive
Once you have your options narrowed down, you will want to take a few for a test drive. If you have a couple of makes and models in mind, take them all for a drive. If you can test drive them all in one location, it may give you a better idea of which model you like best. When you take a vehicle for a test drive, you should drive it in normal driving conditions. That means if you drive on windy, curvy roads, then you should find a windy, curvy road for the test drive.
Test out the handling and the feel of the vehicle as well as the brakes and the maneuverability. Listen to it as you're driving and watch for sensor lights. After you take the car out for a spin, do a thorough inspection once back on the lot. During this time, check the air conditioner and the heater. Listen to each speaker and test the windows, locks, power seats, mirrors, and other gadgets.
Take the time to sit in all of the seats. You may not ever be a passenger in your vehicle, but knowing how roomy the car is can be important if you plan to have passengers. If you have a car seat, put it in the vehicle to make sure it will fit properly. You will also want to take a close look at the exterior for mismatched paint, dents, or scratches. Finally, if you have a trusted mechanic, it's okay to ask to have the vehicle inspected by your mechanic.
Time to Purchase
Now that you have put in all of this time and effort, it's finally time to make a decision. If there's something that needs to be fixed or added to the vehicle, make sure you work that into your deal. In many cases, you don't have to settle for what the sticker price is. And since you did your research, you know what a fair asking price is and can negotiate for that price. Once you feel comfortable with the deal, go ahead and complete the paperwork.
Buying a vehicle can be stressful. Doing your research before going to a dealership will reduce the pressure you might feel from a salesperson. Knowing what your budget is, what your must-haves are, and the make and model you're looking for will help you make an informed purchase. When the time comes to purchase that new-to-you vehicle, visit Huffines Chevrolet Lewisville. Their knowledgeable salespeople, commitment to treating customers the way they want to be treated, and wide selection of vehicles will get you into the used car of your dreams.

We at Huffines Chevrolet Lewisville are excited to share with our local drivers exactly what makes this car as fun as it is functional.
Comfortable Interior
While many other cars that are as inexpensive as the Spark adorn their interior with low quality materials, that is absolutely not the case with the 2021 Chevrolet Spark. The Spark's interior is decorated with delightful textures and has many desirable features, like leather trim and heated front seats.
Up to Date Tech
Even though the 2021 Chevrolet Spark comes at an incredibly low price, car owners won't be excluded from top notch car technology. This car comes with ingenious entertainment and technology for today's drivers and surrounds its drivers and passengers with digital convenience.
High End Safety Features
To help protect modern day drivers, Spark comes equipped with not four but 10 standard airbags in addition to a high-strength safety cage made of steel. Another available state of the art safety feature is Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB). This feature can sense an approaching onward crash with another vehicle in time to either lessen the impact or avoid the accident entirely. The system even corrects for human error. If the response from the driver isn't adequate to avoid the crash, the AEB system can apply the brakes to assist in stopping the accident from occurring.
Economical Pricing
There's no chance of anyone suffering from a case of sticker shock when they check out the 2021 Chevrolet Spark. This newest addition to the Chevrolet lineup is their most compact and economical car to date. Not only that, but the 2021 Chevrolet Spark also holds the title of being the lowest priced new car in the entire auto market. It's certainly a challenge to fend off the allure of the Spark's starting price.
The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the most basic iteration of the 2021 Chevrolet Spark starts at $13,400. This model comes with a manual transmission along with the basic amenities. This cost effective pricing opens up the possibility of car ownership to many people who live within a strict budget.
Prospective car owners who are looking for more glitz and glamour in their car won't be disappointed though. The LT model which comes with a few more bells and whistles starts just at $15,300. Drivers who are looking for a Spark with an automatic transmission can snag one for under $17,000.
Fuel Efficiency
Maneuvering in and out of hidden gems in the city has never been easier. The fun-sized Chevrolet Spark isn't only compact and fun to drive, but it also is wonderfully fuel efficient. In city driving, the 2021 Chevrolet Spark with the manual transmission is rated at 29 miles per gallon (mpg). When equipped with an automatic transmission, the Chevy Spark is rated at 30 mpg.
With an upright driving position, like a crossover's, and an armrest that folds down, the Spark ensures driver comfort. The Chevrolet Spark can easily carry four adults. The large front doors and raised seat height allows passengers to climb inside with ease. To provide ultimate comfort for adults sitting in the back, the front seats can be slid forward to adjust for all shapes and sizes.
Three carry-on bags can fit in the Spark's trunk, which allows for 11 cubic feet of cargo space. If the rear seat is stowed, the storage space increases to 27 cubic feet and if a big move is on the schedule, the front seats can be moved forward to maximize the available storage space. Using this configuration, 15 bags can be packed inside the car. Inside, the 2021 Chevrolet Spark has a handy shelf right above the glove box in addition to cubbies found in the center console.

Even though the 2021 Chevrolet Spark comes at an incredibly low price, car owners won't be excluded from top notch car technology. This car comes with ingenious entertainment and technology for today's drivers and surrounds its drivers and passengers with digital convenience.
As a standard feature, this vehicle has in-car 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity. A Spark owner will also be excited to see the 7-inch touchscreen that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These are car assistant systems that, through the infotainment system, improve a driver's access to certain features on his phone. Drivers can also access their preferred navigation apps from their phone. the can also listen to their favorite driving playlists or even take phone calls completely hands-free. The 2021 Chevrolet Spark also has two USB ports so drivers and passengers can always be fully charged no matter where they go.

The 2021 Spark also comes with Forward Collision Alert (FCW). This is a cutting edge piece of safety technology that tracks a vehicle's speed, the velocity of the vehicle before it, and the distance in between the vehicles. If the rear vehicle gets too close to the car in front of it, the FCW system will caution the driver of an upcoming crash.
For drivers who are in need of a vehicle that is not only able to fit into tight spaces but can also motor around urban areas, Huffines Chevrolet Lewisville can help find you the perfect vehicle. Quite a few automakers have phased out their extra-small cars in recent years and have instead focused on manufacturing extra-small crossover SUVs; however, Chevrolet refuses to quit creating small, affordable cars. The 2021 Spark is little, but it sure is big on both value and fuel economy.

Adopting a Pet in Lewisville, TX
So, you're ready to welcome a special four-legged family member into your life. But where can you go around Lewisville, Texas, to adopt a pet? Fortunately, you have a variety of options when you're ready to adopt. Learn more about the benefits of adopting a pet and where you can go in the Lewisville area to adopt.

Benefits of Adopting a Pet
If you're interested in bringing a pet into your home, there are a variety of reasons why you should adopt instead of shop. The most important reason is that you will save a life. Sadly, it's estimated that more than a million cats and dogs are euthanized each year in the United States because shelters are too full to handle all of them. By adopting, you bring a loving pet into your home and open up a spot in the shelter for an animal that needs it.
Most shelter pets are healthy and happy animals that ended up at the shelter because of a human problem, such as a divorce or a move. Many pets are already house-trained and are used to living with people. Plus, adopting is often cheaper than shopping for a pet. At many adoption centers, the cost of spaying or neutering, the first vaccinations, and sometimes even the microchipping are included in the adoption fee.
Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center
The Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is the main animal shelter in Lewisville. The animals that are available for adoption are listed on the shelter's website. Once you find a specific pet you're interested in adopting, you can follow the unique URL in the pet's description to start the online adoption application. After the shelter approves your application, a staff member will contact you and schedule an appointment for a pickup.
The Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center also houses lost and found pets. If you've lost your pet, you can submit a lost pet report and keep it on file at the shelter. You can also visit the shelter during regular business hours to look for your pet. If you've found a pet and you can safely approach it, you can take the animal to the shelter to have it checked for a microchip.
Grapevine Animal Services
Located in Grapevine just 10 miles south of Lewisville, Grapevine Animal Services is another nearby shelter that offers pet adoptions. Here, you'll find puppies and kittens as well as adult dogs and cats that arrived at the shelter after they became lost or their owners could no longer take care of them.
When you're ready to adopt, you can visit the shelter or look at the available pets online. You can then schedule a visit to meet the pet that interests you. If the pet is a good fit, you can complete the questionnaire, sign the contract accepting responsibility for the animal, and pay the adoption fee.
Before adoption, all of the animals will be spayed or neutered and have their basic vaccination shots, including rabies. Your adoption fee also includes a microchip. You'll be able to complete the registration of the chip at the shelter at no additional charge. Additionally, dogs will go home with a leash, cats will have their own carrier, and every cat and dog will get a sample of Nature's Select food.
MARS Rescue
MARS (Mobile Animal Rescue Service) Rescue Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing abandoned and homeless animals. The program works primarily with shelters that don't have a no-kill policy in place and with owners who are no longer able to care for their pets. By working with local veterinarians, boarding facilities, trainers, volunteers, and foster homes, MARS Rescue is able to save hundreds of animals every year.
In addition to offering rescue services, the program also provides the community with information and education on responsible pet ownership, such as the importance of good nutrition, spaying or neutering, and positive behavior training.
When you're ready to find a new pet, the rescue group has developed a pet adoption form that can help them place pets with the right owners. If you know the exact pet you're interested in, you can fill out that information on the adoption form. If not, you can include a general description of the type of pet you're looking for, and the program can help you find a match.
Texas Rustlers Small Animal Rescue
If you're interested in adopting a small animal instead of a cat or dog, Texas Rustlers Small Animal Rescue is ready to help. This volunteer-run, nonprofit organization is dedicated to the rescue and adoption of guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, rats, mice, ferrets, and other small animals. If a suitable permanent home for these small animals is unavailable, the rescue group will shelter them for life.
If you're interested in adopting a small animal, you'll begin by completing the online application. A staff member from the rescue group will then contact you to arrange a time for you to visit the shelter. Once you're at the shelter, you'll get to meet the animals, learn about the cages, and receive any advice or education you might need. At this point, you can also select the animal you would like to adopt. After you select your animal, you'll go home and get prepared for your new pet by purchasing food and supplies and setting up the cage.
Once your home is ready, you can come back to the shelter to pick up your new pet. You can shorten the process to one visit if you have the cage and supplies ready before you come to look at the adoptable animals. The shelter also has a store fully stocked with everything your small animal needs.
At Huffines Chevrolet Lewisville, we encourage you to check out one of these adoption centers when you're ready to bring a loving pet into your home. Do you have a heartwarming adoption story you'd like to share? Please feel free to contact us and tell us all about it. We'd love to hear about the amazing pets adopted around Lewisville!

Greater Lewisville Community Theatre
The Greater Lewisville Community Theatre is an intimate community theater situated in the heart of downtown Lewisville. The theater is located in a historic building originally built in 1885 to house Cobb's Dry Goods Store, making it the oldest building in Lewisville. After Cobb's Dry Goods Store closed, the building was home to a church. Eventually, the Greater Lewisville Community Theatre purchased the building in 1997 as its permanent home.
The best way to check out the original architecture of the historic building is to purchase a ticket to see a show at the theater. Each year, the Greater Lewisville Community Theatre hosts a variety of eclectic and exciting stage plays and special musical productions that are sure to delight everyone.
Old Well House
Lewisville has a unique piece of history sitting directly in front of City Hall: the Old Well House. When Lewisville was incorporated in 1925, the city had a population of around 850. W.W. Sherrill owned the water company that provided water services to these residents. The system included a well, a water tank, and a distribution network. However, this distribution network was limited, and it mostly provided water to faucets in front yards. Residents then had to carry this water into their homes.
Realizing they needed a better water system if they wanted to grow, town leaders eventually sold bonds to purchase Sherrill's water system and build the well house, which became the city's first municipal building. In the years after its construction, the building also housed Lewisville's fire truck, a police station, and a variety of city offices. Today, it provides restrooms to people visiting the downtown area.
During renovations, numerous efforts were made to keep as much of the original 1920s interior and exterior style as possible. Although the original tin ceiling on the 12-foot ceilings wasn't salvageable, a similar style was installed. Additionally, several windows and doors were restored to their original design. Even the paint colors are ones that were common during the 1920s.
Old Alton Bridge
Located about 11 miles north of Lewisville in Argyle, the Old Alton Bridge is a historic iron truss bridge that crosses Hickory Creek and connects the cities of Copper Canyon and Denton. The bridge was constructed in 1884 to carry horses and later vehicles across the creek at a spot that was popular for crossing cattle. The bridge was named after the abandoned community of Alton, which was actually the seat of Denton County from 1850 to 1856.
The Old Alton Bridge was heavily traveled and in constant use until 2001. However, because of its single-lane design and sharp curves on both sides of the creek, motorists had to honk their car horns before crossing the span. As a result of these safety concerns, a new concrete-and-steel bridge was built next to the Old Alton Bridge. Today, the Old Alton Bridge is open to pedestrian and equestrian traffic and is a popular spot for photographers and nature lovers. It's also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area
Many people visit Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area to enjoy kayaking, fishing, hiking, and camping in the scenic nature preserve. Although you might not realize it, the preserve is also a great place to check out some historical sites. This is where you can find the Minor-Porter Log House. In 1869, William Tipton Minor moved from Alabama to the Lewisville area. Soon after he arrived, he bought property in what would eventually become Highland Village and built a log home there.
In 1881, Minor married Vesta Ann Nowlin. They had two children: a son named Beecher and a daughter named Alice. When Alice married Clarence Olin Porter in 1901, the couple moved into the log house. They started covering the logs with siding and adding rooms to the home. Eventually, most people forgot a log house formed the bones of what they now called the Prairie House.
After Alice and Clarence passed away, their children inherited the property and sold it for development. During demolition of the Prairie House, the historic log home was discovered and donated to the city of Lewisville. The city moved the home to the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area and reconstructed it. Today, the Minor-Porter Log House is a fine example of the meticulous detail that went into building log homes in the 1800s.
Old Town Lewisville
Old Town is in the heart of Lewisville and a charming area that offers a unique variety of dining, shopping, and entertainment opportunities. Most of the structures in Old Town date back to the 1880s, and many of them have a fascinating history to discover. For example, the building that houses Main Street Cafe was originally built in 1885 as a house for Dr. J.W. Kennedy, who was once forced to provide medical care to Bonnie and Clyde.
As you stroll down the brick-lined sidewalks, be sure to take in the beautiful historic buildings with their architecturally rich details. These buildings house everything from local boutiques that sell vintage clothing to restaurants serving Southern comfort food and handcrafted drinks. You also want to make sure you take some time to check out the entertainment district in Old Town. In addition to the public performing arts center, this district also hosts concerts, festivals, and public art events throughout the year.

Why an EV Might Be the Right Choice for You
Electric vehicles (EVs) are quickly gaining popularity. In 2010, there were just 17,000 electric vehicles on the road worldwide. In 2019, sales of electric cars were over 2.1 million around the world, marking a 40% year-on-year increase and bringing the total number of EVs to 7.2 million. While you might invest more in an electric vehicle upfront, you'll reap a wealth of benefits that you can enjoy over the entire lifetime of the car.
Image via Flickr by automobileitalia
If you're thinking about switching to an electric car, there are many compelling reasons to do so. Consider these great perks of switching to an EV from a traditional gas-powered vehicle.
Cheaper Driving Per Mile
The fuel efficiency of an electric vehicle is calculated in kilowatt-hours (kWh) per 100 miles. To accurately determine how much it costs to drive an electric car, you'll need to know the vehicle's efficiency and the cost of electricity. The average cost of electricity in Texas is 12 cents per kWh. In the 2021 Chevy Bolt, you'll use just 29 kWh per 100 miles, so the cost per mile is about $0.03.
Gas-powered vehicles simply can't measure up. The 2021 Chevy Malibu averages 32.5 mpg. If gas costs $2.30 a gallon, you're spending $0.07 a mile, even with a high level of efficiency. Fluctuating gas prices will influence this number, but in most cases, you'll find that an electric car is two to three times cheaper per mile than a gas-powered vehicle.
Over five years, the driver of an electric vehicle will save an average of $4,000 to $5,000 compared to a gasoline-powered vehicle.
Less Maintenance
A gasoline engine is a complex mechanical component. There are more than two dozen parts in a gas engine that require routine maintenance to stay in working condition. Not only will you spend more money maintaining a gas-powered vehicle, but you'll also invest more time in maintenance. Whether you do the maintenance yourself or take the time to drive to and from a dealership where you await professional service, you're still taking precious hours out of your day.
Some maintenance that you can avoid when you're using a purely electric vehicle includes:
• Oil changes.
• Air filter changes.
• Transmission service.
• New spark plugs.
• Cooling system flushes.
• Replacement drive belts.
Ever-lasting Brake Pads
Electric vehicles use something known as regenerative braking to stop the car. In a traditional vehicle, the brake pads and brake rotors create friction that slows and eventually stops the vehicle. In an electric vehicle, the brake simply sends a message to the electric motor that signals it to go into reverse. As the vehicle shifts its energy to moving backward, it effectively stops the car.
Best of all, the action of moving backwards generates electricity for the vehicle's engine. The car stores this in the batteries and uses it to further fuel your driving. Regenerative braking works best in stop-and-go driving situations.
Electric cars are also equipped with friction brakes for situations where regenerative braking won't work, so you're not entirely at the mercy of this new and innovative form of braking. However, you may use your friction brakes so infrequently that you have to change them rarely, if ever.
Tax Incentives
Many electric vehicles are eligible for tax credits. Drivers who purchase a qualifying all-electric vehicle may receive a federal rebate of up to $7,500 on their taxes. The total amount of the rebate depends upon the energy storage capacity of the vehicle. Therefore, plug-in hybrids are eligible for a smaller rebate.
Unfortunately, current legislation has placed a cap of 200,000 eligible vehicles on manufactures. Tesla reached the cap by the end of 2019, and GM hit this cap in 2020. New legislation may remove the 200,000 vehicle ceiling. The proposed GREEN Act includes tax code revision that would raise the cap to 600,000 vehicles. After selling 600,000 eligible vehicles, the credit would reduce by 50% for one quarter before ending.
The GREEN Act may also provide a tax credit of up to $2,500 for the purchase of a used electric car. Under the current proposed bill, the vehicle must be at least two years old and no more than $25,000 to qualify.
Additional tax credits are available at the state level. In Texas, you can receive a rebate grant of up to $2,500 for the purchase of an electric vehicle. The state allows for 2,000 such rebate grants every two years.
Improved Handling and Performance
Electric cars are a zippy alternative to gas-powered vehicles, with outstanding handling that keeps you in complete control on the road. You can trace this functionality back to the vehicle's technology. Electric vehicles send power directly to the wheels while a gas-powered vehicle has to route the power through the transmission and drivetrain. The further that power has to go, the more is lost on the way to the wheels.
Electric cars feature a heavy ion-battery pack on the floor pan, which pulls them closer to the ground. This low center of gravity improves handling and reduces the chance of overturning or losing traction as you navigate sharp corners.
Green Operation
If you're concerned about your impact on the environment, an electric vehicle is the best choice by far. Electric vehicles produce no direct emissions. A typical passenger vehicle emits 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year. While electric vehicles are still responsible for emissions related to vehicle manufacturing and the production and distribution of electricity, these are far less.
Internal combustion cars can also leak harmful fluids that may damage plants and animals when they seep into the ground. If you want to live a greener lifestyle, an electric vehicle is an effective way to do so.
If you're interested in learning more about your options in the world of EVs, come to Huffines Chevrolet Lewisville. We have several Chevrolet Bolt EVs on the lot that you can check out. Take this vehicle for a test drive and feel the difference of an electric car for yourself. You may be surprised at how comfortable, convenient, and powerful electric vehicles are.

Best Features of the 2021 Tahoe
If you're in need of a large SUV with room for the whole family to travel in comfort, Chevrolet has you covered with the new 2021 Tahoe. With three rows of seats, ample cargo storage, and a powerful engine, what's not to like about Chevy's redesigned family SUV? Let's take a look at some of the Tahoe's best features.
The Engine Lineup
Image via Chevrolet.com
The Engine Lineup
Even the Chevy's base 5.3-liter V-8 provides an impressive 355 horsepower. If you want a faster ride, try upgrading to the 6.2-liter V-8, which generates 420 horsepower. Alternatively, a new addition for 2021 is the 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine, which offers improved fuel economy while not sacrificing too much of the raw power. Considering the size of the Tahoe and how powerful its V-8 engines are, its fuel economy score is one of the best in the large SUV class with 16 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.
Plenty of Space Inside
Chevy made some big changes to the Tahoe for 2021, dealing with a lack of storage space and limited legroom in the third row of the 2020 model. The wheel base is now longer, helping to create an additional 10 inches of cabin space. This means that adults can comfortably sit wherever they like. Chevy's redesign managed to combine more legroom for passengers with a whopping 30% increase in storage space compared to the 2020 model. When the rear rows of seats fold down, you have more than 120 cubic feet of space.
Even with a full load of passengers, the Tahoe has ample room for luggage and supplies. You get 25.5 cubic feet of storage space behind the third row and an impressive 72.6 feet behind the second row.
Impressive Towing Ability
Along with a cavernous cabin, this SUV is capable of hauling plenty of weight at its rear. From your boat to a camper, the Tahoe can tow pretty much anything under 8,400 pounds. If you regularly tow, you can upgrade to get access to some helpful features. These include hitch guidance on the rearview camera, a trailer brake controller, a two-speed transfer case, and an in-vehicle Advanced Trailering System.
A New Suspension for a Smoother Ride
2021 introduces an independent suspension to handle road bumps and scale uneven surfaces. In some of the Tahoe's higher trims, such as the Z71, you can add a premium rear suspension for even greater comfort. Coupled with four-wheel drive, which comes standard with the Z71, the new suspension gives you the stability you need to enjoy a luxury ride.
Five Infotainment Displays in the Cabin
The Tahoe can be equipped with up to five infotainment displays, which ensures that your passengers find entertainment wherever they're sitting. In addition to the 10.2-inch dash monitor, the Tahoe boasts twin touch screens as part of its rear-media center. This console can give your kids access to their favorite games or music through a wireless hot spot. Other infotainment features include Bluetooth connectivity, satellite radio, and six audio speakers. You can choose from two premium sound systems for extra performance.
The Tahoe's six USB ports allow your passengers to keep their electronic devices charged and connected while you're on the go. If they want to link their phones to your infotainment system, they can take advantage of the wireless access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Good Selection of Standard Safety and Driver Assistance Features
For a vehicle in the large SUV class, the Tahoe boasts a broad range of safety and assistance features.
Front automatic emergency braking and a front collision warning come standard, offering some extra peace of mind whether you're cruising on the highway or around town. Although the Tahoe may appear like a challenging vehicle to park, its camera and parking sensors make this job a lot easier. And if you want additional help, try upgrading to the surround-view parking system, which includes eight cameras placed at various points around the vehicle. A number of convenient features, including rain-sensing windshield wipers and automatic headlights, make the Chevy Tahoe even more enjoyable to drive.
In case your kids are learning to drive, the Tahoe's Teen Driver feature lets you limit the Tahoe's speed and the volume of music.
Trims Catering to Everyone's Needs
The five trims in the Tahoe's lineup — LS, LT, Z71, Premier, and High Country — give buyers like you various options to customize your ride. If carrying more passengers is your primary concern, the LS is the only trim offering nine seats. It comes with climate control, proximity keyless entry, and remote start. For a bit more luxury, the LT is equipped with 10-way adjustable front seats, which have leather coverings. Drivers who enjoy off-roading will like the Z71, which features four-wheel drive as standard. You also get a front skid plate, heavy-duty air filter, and hill descent control.
The Premier trim takes interior comfort to the next level. While dropping some of the Z71's capabilities for going off the beaten path, it includes 12-way power adjustable front seats, leather seating throughout, and a 10-speaker audio system. You'll also get larger alloy wheels and a navigation system. The 8-inch driver display gives you an overview of your Tahoe's performance as you drive.
To enjoy the Tahoe's full power, you'll need to upgrade to the top High Country trim. It comes equipped with the stronger V-8 engine with 420 horsepower. On top of that, adaptive air suspension ensures a relaxing ride. The 15-inch head-up display makes it easier for you to keep an eye on your SUV's performance while you're on the go.
We hope we've been able to give you a better idea of some of the 2021 Tahoe's outstanding features. Do you still have questions about its performance, interior specs, or design features?
