Service FAQ
As a vehicle owner, maintenance and repairs are among the most important things you can stay on top of to prolong the life of your vehicle. At our Aiken service center, we often get calls or visits from drivers who have questions. Those questions are an important place to start when it comes to caring for your vehicle.
To help you stay on top of things, we’ve compiled a list of some of the questions we receive frequently–as well as their answers, of course!
If I haven’t reached the mileage for an oil change but 6 months has passed, do I need to get my oil changed?
We do suggest getting an oil change at least once per year, even if you haven’t hit the mileage on your vehicle. We will also take a look at your systems, fluids, and bolts, so the visit is definitely worth it!
How much will my repair be, and how long will it take?
Unfortunately, we cannot answer this question over the phone. Even the sophisticated computer that scans for codes doesn’t always give the exact problem, so there is often exploratory work that is involved in diagnosing a vehicle. We don’t want to misinform you, so we can’t give you a price until we know exactly what is wrong.
Are we more expensive than independent repair shops?
The answer to this may surprise you: we call around to our competitors regularly to make sure our prices are in line with theirs, and we are often LESS expensive! We use full synthetic oil, like GM suggests, and so should the independent repair shops! If you are getting what is best for your vehicle, our price is not more than others out there. Better yet, the latest car repair and maintenance specials at our Aiken service center can help you save even more.
If I have nitrogen in my tires and I have low tire pressure, is it safe to add regular air?
Yes, it is completely safe! The air around us, which you put in your tires, is made up of 78% nitrogen anyway. When we inflate your tires with nitrogen, we add nitrogen to get the purity up to 98%. This helps maintain pressure during temperature drops and helps maintain proper pressures, and adding regular air is perfectly safe.
