Wiesner of Huntsville Community Involvement
At Wiesner of Huntsville, we love to support our community. Here are some of the organizations we are proud to work with and what they do for our local area.
CASA of Walker County
The main purpose of CASA of Walker County is to guarantee that children in the Child Protective Services system have a court-appointed advocate to help ensure the best possible outcome for the child. Advocates are volunteers who receive training through CASA and attend court hearings to be a voice for the youth.
Wiesner of Huntsville has partnered with CASA of Walker County to put on events to raise funds for the organization. Wiesner presented their Christmas in July Bingo event and sponsored the raffle for their Parade of Playhouses. Wiesner was also a drop-off location during their Christmas Toy Drive, helping to provide underprivileged children with presents for the holidays.

Trinity County Fair
Wiesner of Huntsville is a sponsor of the Trinity Community Fair, which is one of the last free fairs in the state of Texas. You’ll find everything you love about fairs while you’re there, including great food, fun rides, unique vendors, exciting entertainment, and a youth livestock auction.
In 2019, this old-fashioned community fair celebrated its 70th year entertaining the Trinity area and its surrounding towns. The 2021 fair hosted a parade, with the Trinity FFA and Trinity 4-H taking home the 1st place prize for its presentation. Attending the Trinity Community Fair is a perfect way to support local businesses and the kids in our neighborhoods while having lots of family-friendly fun.

SAAFE House
SAAFE House, which stands for Sexual Assault and Abuse Free Environment, serves a vital purpose in the Walker County area. SAAFE House doesn’t just provide shelter or crisis intervention to people experiencing this type of violence. The organization is dedicated to educating the communities it serves, as well as providing resources to help survivors recover and start over in the wake of their abuse or assault.
SAAFE House serves people of all genders, sexual orientations, races, and nationalities. The organization is supported by merchandise sales and a resale shop run on donations, in addition to local community support and fundraising. Wiesner of Huntsville is proud to assist with these fundraising events that benefit SAAFE House and help keep their doors open to all victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse.

Boys & Girls Club of Walker County
Boys & Girls Club of Walker County offers a wide range of programs and activities to help support the growth and education of kids in the community. Boys & Girls Club focuses on programs in the arts, education and career, health and life skills, character and leadership, and fitness and recreation. These areas keep kids mentally stimulated, physically healthy, and prepared for the future.
Besides regular programming for kids, Boys & Girls Club puts on an annual day camp in the summer, and parents can enroll them for 5 weeks, 4 weeks, or just 1 week, depending on their budget and needs. The club also offers Adult Education and Literacy classes that help parents with GED preparation, and English as a Second Language and Civics classes that can help prepare parents for citizenship tests.

Chamber of Commerce Auction
Wiesner of Huntsville has sponsored the annual Huntsville Walker County Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala & Auction, which honors the best local businesses of Huntsville and Walker County. At the 78th Awards Gala & Auction, Wiesner was the presenting sponsor.
The awards and auction help provide funds for the Mary Frances Park Scholarship Fund. This scholarships for $1,000 is awarded each year to a senior at a Walker County school who plans to attend Sam Houston State University, where Dr. Park was a celebrated professor for 25 years. It’s an honor for Wiesner of Huntsville to help support Walker County students pursuing higher education.
