The GMC Sierra 2500 HD only has two engine options but they are tough enough to take on any job you may have because the GMC 2500 is Heavy Duty. The first engine option is a gas powered 6.0-liter V8 with 360 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. The 6.0-liter V8 has a max towing ability of 14,500 lbs. The other engine option is a newly updated 6.6-liter Duramax Diesel Engine with 445 horsepower and a mind blowing 910 lb-ft of torque. Which is a 12% increase in horsepower and a 19% increase in torque compared to the previous model. The Duramax 6.6-liter V8 also has a max tow rating of 14,500 lbs. But if you get a Sierra 2500 HD Gooseneck/5th Wheel, the Duramax engine can tow up to 18,100 lbs.
