The HD Models
For the 2024 model year, you’ll have the opportunity to explore both the 2500HD and the 3500HD. These are both capable of so much power and performance that you can use them for everyday driving, work, and even the most adventurous vacations.
You’ll find that there are a lot of similarities between the two HD models (including trim levels and what’s under the hood). Much of the difference comes down to the dimensions.
The 2500HD will be offered as a crew cab. From there, you can choose whether you want a standard bed or a long bed. There is also a double cab option that provides you with the same number of front head, leg, and shoulder room as the standard crew cab.
The 3500HD is available with a crew cab as well as a standard bed or long bed. There’s also a single rear wheel and dual rear wheel configuration depending on what you may be hauling.
Silverado 2500HD
The 2024 Silverado HD is going to be similar to some of the previous model years. It will offer such things as 18,000 pounds of max available towing.
It is available in five trim levels:
• LT
• LTZ
• High Country
• Custom
• Work Truck
The MSRP can vary throughout the trim levels, so you can determine which one offers you the best driving experience for the money with such things as standard safety features and specific interior components.
Silverado 3500HD
The Silverado 3500HD has a higher towing capacity of around 36,000 pounds. This allows you to use the truck for some of the larger and heavier items including boats and RVs.
The advanced trailer system will also be available, making it easier for you to hitch and tow – and see everything with the many camera angles. Plus, you can track it all within the Chevy Infotainment 3 system and by using the myChevrolet mobile app if you have the feature enabled on your mobile device.
Just as with the 2500HD, there are five trim levels for the 3500HD:
• LT
• LTZ
• High Country
• Custom
• Work Truck
You can explore the features included in each to determine if you want a basic truck or one with more of the luxurious amenities.
The Main Upgrades in 2024
The Silverado HD was redesigned in 2019, so there aren’t too many noticeable differences in the 2024 models. However, there are quite a few upgrades in terms of the interior within the cabins.
You’ll notice some upgrades to the power and capability – and this is with the presence of the available 6.6L Duramax turbodiesel engine as well as the 10-speed Allison transmission.
Here are some of the upgrades you’re likely to see right away:
• LED accent lights that frame the grille
• Faux intakes below each headlight
• A 13.4-inch central touchscreen
• A new button layout below the dashboard display
• Air vents in the rear seating area
• A new center console that offers available wireless charging and more cupholders
Many of the upgrades are determined by the trim level that you choose. And you’ll notice the presence of a Midnight Edition within the HD High Country trim level, offering more black accents, including power-retractable assist steps, a Black Ice grille bar, door handles, and more.
