The Impressive Technology of the Silverado
When it comes to pickup trucks, you need to make sure you’re getting the most out of it. For the longest time, trucks were the rough and rugged vehicles that didn’t get the latest technology. Chevy has changed all of that, impressing with the amount of tech found within the Silverado.
Smartphone Compatibility
While most vehicles will allow you to connect a smartphone, not all of them provide you with access to both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Regardless of the smartphone you have, you can use it to connect to your truck. It will make it easier to get directions, stream audio, and stay in touch with contacts. Using voice controls or steering wheel-mounted controls, you can command that texts be read or that a favorite song be played.
The myChevrolet Mobile App
You can turn your smartphone into a remote control for your Silverado, too. With the myChevrolet mobile app, you can locate your truck, lock and unlock the doors, and even start the engine. The app will also provide you with important details of what’s going on. This includes knowing the oil life, fuel range, and tire pressure even when you’re not in the driver’s seat. It ensures you are more in-the-know about all things related to your truck.
4G Wi-Fi Hotspot
Staying connected is important – and Chevy has your back. Your Silverado is equipped with a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot for up to seven devices. It ensures you have an internet connection wherever you go. It allows you to stream your music on the longest of road trips. It also keeps your passengers entertained with the ability to surf the web, stream movies, or play their favorite games.
Color Head-Up Display
When you’re driving down the road, you can’t be looking all over the place to get key information. The color head-up display has you covered. All important details are projected onto the windshield so you can keep your eyes on the road. You can find out about your speed, be shown active safety alerts, and have all of your turn-by-turn directions in front of you. The multi-color display ensures you see what you need when you need it.
Multiple Camera Views
Have you ever noticed that driving a truck can limit some of your visibility? In the past, it was simply something you dealt with to get the bigger work truck. Chevy has given you more visibility in the Silverado thanks to up to 15 camera views. You can use cameras to show you everything that’s going on around your truck. There are four hitch views to ensure you get a trailer hitched properly. There are six driving views so you can see what’s going on in the bed of your truck as well as anything you’re towing. Plus, there are five parking views to make it that much easier to maneuver into even the smallest of spots.
This kind of technology is a game-changer when you’re driving all over town. Regardless of whether you’re hauling a trailer, a boat, an RV, or anything else, you need to see what’s going on. Rather than depending on others to direct you, the camera views deliver greater confidence.
In-Vehicle Trailering System
The Silverado already gives you 12,000 pounds of towing capacity. Now, you need to make sure you manage that appropriately. The in-vehicle trailering system provides convenience and safety in one easy-to-use system.
You will have access to pre-departure checklists so you know everything is good to go. You can run diagnostics on trailer lighting to ensure you’re compliant with state laws. Plus, you can use other features inside of the app – such as trailer theft alerts, trailer sway control, and more.
There’s so much tech found within the Silverado that delivers confidence, entertainment, and convenience. Don’t assume that this is yet another truck. It’s a completely different experience, and we’ll show you what you can expect with the various trim levels.
At Lawrence Chevrolet, we look forward to showing you the tech features of the Silverado for yourself. We’ll take you for a test drive so you can see how all of the technologies work to offer a more confident and convenient experience behind the wheel.
