The 2022 Cadillac XT5 expands your views of your surroundings, beginning with the Rear Camera Mirror, which shows you an unobstructed view of what’s behind you on the rearview mirror. It relies on a washer to keep the camera lens clean.
Go into reverse and the High-Definition Rear Vision Camera reveals hazards in your backward path. To ease tight maneuvers, High-Definition Surround Vision shows virtual top-down views of you and your surroundings, stitched together from all external cameras.
When you travel after the sun goes down, Night Vision shows a thermal heat map of people and large animals that are beyond your headlamps, helping you to avoid them.
Coaching Teens
You can confidently hand over the keys to your teens who want to take the 2022 Cadillac XT5 out for a spin while still watching over them through Teen Driver technology. Through their own key fob, you can set an audio volume limit, set a speed warning, and limit the top vehicle speed, among other options. Safety features, such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, and the Antilock Brake System, are automatically turned on as well.
After the drive, you can look at an in-vehicle report card to see how they did on their trip. You can then use the information to coach them and encourage safer driving habits.
Staying Safe
While you’re in the 2022 Cadillac XT5, you’re protected by over 20 available safety and driver assistance features, such as the following:
• Forward Collision Alert tells you if you’re following the vehicle in front too closely and if you’re about to hit it. Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking can prevent accidents by engaging automatic braking.
• Front Pedestrian Braking grants you the same advantage when a person is in your path.
• Adaptive Cruise Control keeps you at a safe distance from the vehicle in front by automatically adjusting your speed when traffic conditions change. The Following Distance Indicator shows the gap time in seconds between you and the next vehicle.
• Automatic Parking Assist with Braking looks for an open parallel or perpendicular parking space and steers you into it while using some braking. You still handle gear shifts and steering.
• Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert makes lane changes safer by indicating in the appropriate side-view mirror when a moving vehicle is entering your blind spot.
• Front and Rear Park Assist uses distance alerts to tell you how close you’re getting to obstacles in the front and back when you park.
• As you back out of a parking spot, Rear Cross Traffic Alert warns you if a car is trying to cross your reverse path.
• The Safety Alert Seat pulses at the bottom of your driver’s seat to make you feel the direction of a potential hazard.
• Automatic Seat Belt Tightening holds you in place during sudden braking or emergency maneuvers.
