Johnston Farm & Indian Agency
The Johnston Farm & Indian Agency is a 200-acre park that honors Ohio’s 2,000 years of history. While here, you can visit the museum that was designed to look like Fort Piqua, which was a supply post in the 18th century. You can view exhibits detailing the lives of the Eastern Woodland Indians of Ohio. You and your family can also enjoy riding in the General Harrison of Piqua, which is a replica canal boat that’s 70-feet-long.
Fort Piqua Plaza
A visit to Piqua isn’t complete without a stop at the Fort Piqua Plaza. This historic hotel has been completely renovated to become a beautiful building for multiple uses. It was originally built back in 1891 and held more than 100 rooms. Today, you’ll find the Piqua Public Library, Mulligans Pub, Winans Chocolates & Coffee House and many banquet rooms in the building.
Garbry Big Woods Reserve
Stretching over 170 acres, Garbry Big Woods Reserve is great for going on outdoor adventures. Whether you want to spend the day fishing or hiking the 2.2 miles of trails with your family, it’s a fun place to spend the day. You can also learn about native trees at the educational arboretum or observe the wildlife from the pond observation deck.
Farrington Reserve
Farrington Reserve also offers a beautiful setting for exploring the outdoors. The 27-acre land has lots of wildlife, as well as Great Miami River access. As such, you and your family can go canoeing, fishing or kayaking here.
