The Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is now stronger and more capable for the 2020 model year. It boasts two impressive engine options, impressive towing technology and advanced safety features to enhance each ride.
Engine options
The standard engine on the Silverado 2500HD is the 6.6-liter V8 gasoline engine, which pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission to reach 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. If you need more power, you can choose the available Duramax® 6.6-liter Turbo-Diesel V8 engine. Paired with an Allison® 10-speed automatic transmission, the engine achieves 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. The engine also includes a turbocharger and an air induction system for added durability.
Safety features
The Silverado 2500HD features a multitude of safety technologies to help protect you on the road. The optional Front and Rear Park Assist warns you about detected objects that are nearby so you can more easily park. Available Lane Departure Warning can help prevent you from drifting out of your lane by giving you alerts. You can also opt for Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking.
Towing capabilities
When you elect for the diesel engine, the Silverado 2500HD can tow up to an impressive 18,510 pounds when properly equipped. To help you tow with confidence, the Silverado 2500HD also comes with an array of towing technologies. You can have more visibility to hitch and park your trailer with up to 15 camera views.
The Advanced Trailering System allows you to view information and utilize features on the myChevrolet Mobile App or through the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. You can also make customized trailer profiles to monitor driving and hitching information. Other available features are trailer maintenance reminders, pre-departure checklists, trailer tire pressure monitoring and exterior trailer lighting diagnostics.
