Keep reading down below to find out the latest information on the 2020 Silverado HD.
What engine powers the 2020 Silverado HD?
There is a brand new engine inside of the 2020 Silverado HD! This engine is a 6.6-liter direct-injected V8, which has the capacity of producing up to 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. To help make this engine so successful, Chevy has included forged powder-metal connecting rods, a forged steel crankshaft, and additional high-strength components. Connected with this engine is a six-speed automatic transmission that comes with Tow/Haul mode. Another engine option is a Duramax 6.6-liter Turbo-Diesel V8. This engine can pump out up to 910 pound-feet of torque and is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. The maximum towing with this engine is 35,500 pounds!
What are some of the major additions to technology?
Technology is an unsung hero in any truck, but especially the 2020 Silverado HD. In fact, technology is one of the major reasons why this has truly become the heavy-duty truck to beat. Not only do you get an advanced trailering system, but you can also get up to 15 unique camera views. This includes an accessory camera, an industry-first transparent Trailer View, Bed View, and HD Surround Vision. Another piece of technology is an in-vehicle Trailering App. This app offers maintenance reminders, trailer electrical diagnostics, pre-departure checklist, and trailer tire pressure and temperature monitoring. Other available technologies include Enhanced Digital Variable Steering Assist, Auto Grade Braking, Trailer Sway Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Park Grade Hold Assist, Auto Park Brake Assist, Diesel Exhaust Braking, and an enhanced Tow/Haul mode.
Can you tell me about the trim options?
The Silverado HD is offered in five different trim options. The first of these is Work Truck. This model comes with 17-inch wheels, a unique black grille bar that has “CHEVROLET” on it, and even 18-inch wheels on the 3500HD model. Another model, LT, comes with 17-inch aluminum wheels, chrome-trimmed vertical grille elements, and with the 3500HD, 18-inch aluminum wheels. The highest and most luxurious model you’ll find is High Country. This trim boasts LED lighting, a distinctive fascia, a two-tone metallic grille trim, and the classic Chevy bowtie. You’ll also either get 20-inch polished aluminum wheels or 17-inch polished forged-aluminum wheels, depending on whether you get a 2500 or a 3500.
