Chevrolet offers the 2019 Malibu in five trim levels ranging from the entry-level L to the Premier. Can you tell me about the powertrain options?

There are three available powertrain options for the 2019 Malibu. Up first is the standard 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 that produces 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. This engine is now mated to a CVT instead of the 6-speed automatic transmission from years prior. Opt for the Premier trim level and you will find a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 under the hood. This engine cranks out 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque and comes connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The third and final powertrain is a hybrid! Two electric motors work with a 1.8-liter inline-4 engine for up to 136 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain is estimated to reach up to 49 mpg on the highway!
