Thanks to a redesigned cabin, the Chevrolet Silverado HD maintains its good looks and keeps up with the time, but make no mistake, it’s all about power with this pickup. And that’s exactly what you get with both the 2500HD and 3500HD models. A standard 6.6-liter V-8 engine produces 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque that pairs with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. The 2024 model sees an increase in the combined weight of 2,000 pounds which puts gives it a 26,000 Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR). Opt for the Duramax diesel 6.6-liter V-8 with the 10-speed automatic and increase the HP to 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque. Choose a dual-rear-wheel model for the 3500HD and get a trailering capacity of 36,000 pounds.
Exterior and Interior
As we mentioned, the new Silverado got a redesigned cabin that includes a new dash and display plus an update to the layout. That includes a 12.3-inch gauge cluster and a 13.4-inch touchscreen. Use it with all of your Google-based software. We also appreciate the new center console that includes a wireless charger.
Outside, all trim levels (Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country) have a new grille design and lighting elements plus new options for wheels that includes chrome 20-inch wheels for the LTZ.
