Dear General Manager of Smith Chevrolet in Turlock,

My husband and I are residents of Clovis, CA (next to Fresno).  We tried to purchase a 2014 Chevy Spark from our local dealership in Clovis for our granddaughter last Sunday.  Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired insofar as they kept changing the price on us.  As a result, we walked out of that dealership totally disgusted and did not purchase the vehicle.  I immediately searched all of the Chevy dealerships in Northern California and found that the Colma (Daly City) dealership had a special whereby we could purchase the same vehicle we were going to purchase at our local dealership for $1,000 cheaper.  However, in perusing all of the other dealership websites I came across yours and saw that you had a special whereby you indicated on your website that you would match any listed price of any other dealership.  Because we prefer to buy locally and because your dealership had a wide selection of color choices available, I called your dealership and spoke with Tim Juif, one of your sales reps.  I explained that I had found a lower listed price at another dealership and would Smith Chevrolet honor the statement on its website and thus, honor the price from the other dealership.  Tim indicated he would look into it and would call me back.

Less than 30 minutes passed and Tim called me back and indicated that Smith Chevrolet would honor the price.  I then told him that my husband and I would be driving to the Bay Area the next day and we would stop into the dealership and purchase the vehicle.  He asked me what colors were we were interested in and I told him the 3 that my granddaughter was considering. 

When we arrived at the dealership the next day we met with Tim.  While my husband and granddaughter took the vehicle out for a test drive I sat down with Tim and went over the numbers.  Sure enough, Smith Chevrolet honored the price from the other dealership.  Thus, we purchased the vehicle Monday morning and indicated we would pick it up upon our return from the Bay Area on Thursday.  Tim assured us the vehicle would be ready (cleaned, gassed up, and inspected) when we arrived on Thursday. 

When we arrived on Thursday, Tim’s promises were kept.  The car was cleaned, inspected and ready to be driven home by our granddaughter.

The purpose of this email is as follows:

1.  To thank Smith Chevrolet and its staff for the professionalism and honesty in our transaction;
2. To point out that your website’s statement that you would honor any competitor’s price is what caused me to call you;
3. To thank you for having the best selection of color choices available so that our granddaughter could get her first choice of color (white) which was not available at many of the other dealerships;

I will highly recommend to all interested friends and family that if they are ever interested in Chevy vehicles that they should seek Smith Chevrolet in Turlock out.
