History
The Bay Shore area was home to the Secatogue Native Americans before the land was traded to British Settlers in the late seventeenth century. Held as a British camp during the Revolutionary War, Bay Shore was a strategic location for several battles. In later years, the area developed shopping districts and resorts, and by the modern era, it developed a progressive community.
Historic Estates
One of the most popular attractions in the area is a collection of historic estates and manors. This includes the Sagtikos Manor, a fantastic local landmark. This historic house was built 1697, though it was continually expanded over the next two centuries. Famous visitors include multiple British generals, as well as Americans like George Washington himself. Furnished with family heirlooms, there are few pieces more historic than the Sagtikos manor. Boulton Center

There are seasonal shows, including a visit from Santa himself, as well as a range of other performing arts.
