    RYAN HISTORY

    In 1960, Mr. Robert Ryan Sr. opened his first dealership on 9th and Minnesota in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
    Mid Town Motors sold used vehicles and Mr. Ryan's son, Bob Ryan Jr. soon got his start in the car business, sitting on the bench in front of the dealership, shining shoes at a nickel a pair.

    Six years later, the Ryan family opened their first new vehicle franchise and Ryan Motors Chrysler Plymouth was opened, also in Sioux Falls, quickly gaining a great reputation and earning Chrysler's "Pacemakers Top 100 Club" award for many years.

    After a short re-location to Houston, Texas in the 1970's with Katy Road Chrysler Plymouth, the Ryan family returned to the Midwest, opening an Oldsmobile store in Brooklyn Park and then, in 1976, our Chevrolet dealership in Buffalo, MN. By this time, Bob Ryan Jr. had worked his way up to become the Dealer Principal.

        The business grows

        Having an excellent reputation for customer sales and service, Bob Ryan was able to add a Chevrolet franchise in 1984 and then Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram brands in 2011. In June of 2015, Bob Ryan celebrated 40 years in the automobile business. His constant insistence and focus on taking care of his customer, from the early days of shining shoes, to the complexities of the vehicles we sell and service today, has continued to pay off.

        The third generation of the Ryan family is now fully invested, continuing their father's tradition of high standards and caring for their customers. The family is proud to have been awarded 7 General Motor's Mark of Excellence Awards and 42 DealerRater Awards, including the 2015-2020 MN Dealer of the Year Awards for Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram brands.

        While the shoe shining has ceased, they still take care of their customers every step of the way.
