— Cars.com (@carsdotcom) December 24, 2016Don't leave your house on that holiday road trip before you make some plans first. Safety with your vehicle will ensure you arrive to your holiday destination safely and ahead of your busy schedule.
- Don't leave a breakdown or accident to chance, have some tools handy so you can get help. pack a small box with tools, road flares, flashlights, and things you could use to flag down help if needed.
- The best time to start your trek is when the rest of those holiday travelers are pulled over resting. Load the car the day before and wake everybody up at midnight to start your long holiday journey.
- If possible, try to leave a couple days before the holiday because the day before will be the heaviest traveled day of the year.
