GMC SIERRA AWARDS

The GMC Sierra family of pickup trucks has served the GMC brand well for nearly 20 years. Though mechanically very similar to their cousins in Chevy's Silverado family, the Sierra nameplate has come to be its own iconic and reputable lineup of capable, high-quality trucks. The versatility and popularity of the GMC Sierra name has earned the lineup a number of accolades that represent the hard work and quality of engineering that goes into the brand. 
The list below is not exhaustive, but is an overview demonstrating the sheer width of the Sierra name's capabilities and public appeal.

  • In 2014, the Sierra 1500 earned the 5-Year Cost to Own Award from Kelley Blue Book. 
  • Also in 2014, the Sierra 1500 Denali took a slot on Ward's Ten Best Interior List, which very rarely features pickups.  
  • More recently, the 2016 Sierra 1500 Denali trim level won the Truck Trend Pickup of the Year Award.  
  • Though the truck didn't end up winning the competition in its entirety, the 2016 Sierra 1500 was also recognized as a finalist in Motor Trend's 2016 Truck of the Year contest.  
  • A recent study conducted by J.D. Power, called the APEAL Study, looked into the ways in which several vehicles were perceived and celebrated by the public. The Sierra 2500HD came out on top of the competition.  
  • Winning the contest two years consecutively, the Sierra 3500HD took home the title of winner of the Cars.com Ultimate Heavy Duty Challenge in both 2014 and 2015.  
  • The entire family of GMC Sierra trucks earned the Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Award, attesting to the sheer value of the brand as a whole.
