Chevy Colorado
Northeast Tennessee Tows and Hauls Go Off Without a Hitch in the New Chevy Colorado
Pro haulers in northwest Tennessee love new mid-size pickups, and the new Chevy Colorado is ahead of that pack. Check it out here at Champion Chevrolet in Johnson City, and you'll see why, too.
Back for 2019 in trims ranging from base and WT to midrange LT and hardcore Z71 and ZR2, it packs all the capabilities approaching a full-size, light-duty truck, but in a more compact, maneuverable, and fuel-efficient package. More excitingly, it's been updated in many noteworthy areas since last year's centennial.
Power and Performance
Whether you're towing a trailerful around Bristol, transporting work crews, or lugging a pallet or two of building equipment or a chest full of tools, you'll discover Chevrolet Colorado powerful and confident enough to get the job done. Choose among four engines to take care of business. One's a balanced 200-horsepower, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder capable of 191 pound-feet of torque. The raw-power option's a 308-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 backed by 275 pound-feet. If you prefer ultra-high-efficiency, choose either the available 181-horsepower, 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel or its bumped-up 186-horsepower sibling. Both deliver a hardworking 369 pound-feet of torque. Properly equipped, you can trailer up to 7,700 pounds as well as carry max payloads of up to 1,574 pounds.
Chevy Colorado isn't all brawn, however. It's also highly economical with fuel. Select a six-speed manual or a six- or eight-speed automatic transmission, and, depending on engine, you'll find the truck ready to go the extra mile. Four-cylinder-equipped trims can get up to 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined, while those with a turbo-diesel can get up to 20 mpg, 30 mpg, and 23 mpg respectively. Moreover, with a choice between 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains, the latter available with a two-speed Autotrac transfer case, and locking front and rear differentials, there's almost no terrain a new Chevrolet Colorado can't command. Opt for an available Z71 Off-Road Suspension Package, or step into a ZR2 trim sporting an off-road suspension and a Multimatic DSSV damping system, and that capability goes off-grid.
Safety
Chevy designs all its new trucks with a firm commitment to driving security in mind, and Chevy Colorado is a prime example of this dedication. It features passive systems to help keep the ride level, such as StabiliTrak electronic stability control and traction control, as well as active tech like hill descent control and both a diesel exhaust brake and integrated trailer brake controller to improve stopping power. With available ultrasonic rear park assist and an HD rear vision camera, it's just as easy to park. Moreover, should the worst happen, OnStar Safety & Security is available. It can automatically notify Emergency Services of a collision, help you recover your pickup if it's stolen, call for roadside assistance, and more.
Interior and Technology
Every new pickup needs a capable mobile office. Chevrolet Colorado has one of the best-equipped that you could hope to find in one. First off, it's comfortable, home to available heated front seats. Secondly, it's tech-savvy, with a choice between 7- and 8-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 systems, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone integration, and built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi for as many as seven devices, keeping you connected to the Web. Wireless charging simplifies energizing compatible electronics for the ride, while connected navigation makes it a lot easier to navigate the Bristol area with confidence. Bring SiriusXM support into the picture, along with an optional seven-speaker Bose premium sound system, and that road mix you've been saving becomes the trip's anthem.
