What’s New in the 2020 Encore GX?
Well, in short, everything. 2020 is the first model year that the Encore GX is available, and it’s already made a huge splash in the crossover segment. Buick has packed a lot of value into the Encore GX with six standard driver-assistance features and seamless smartphone connectivity is standard in the vehicle, meeting modern drivers’ expectations through and through.
For the 2020 model year, you can choose between three trim levels of the Encore GX:
The Encore GX is outfitted with available cutting-edge technology including a head-up display, wireless smartphone charging, Wi-Fi hotspot, rear camera mirror, and the innovative Buick Marketplace. In the Marketplace, you’ll be able to make sure your meals are ready when you are by ordering takeout from restaurants like Applebee’s, IHOP, Wingstop, or Domino’s, reserve a table at your favorite restaurant via Yelp Reservations, or even fill up your tank at the gas station. Ever struggled to find a parking spot downtown? Not anymore. The Buick Marketplace is connected to Parkopedia® which lets you easily find a parking spot in cities from coast to coast.
The interior of the Encore GX has been thoughtfully crafted with luxurious comfort in mind. Leather appointed seating, a leather wrapped steering wheel, a spacious center console/armrest, and available heated power seats give the Encore GX an elegant, modern interior.
With the rear row upright, you’ll find about 25 cubic-feet of space. When you fold the rear seats down the cargo space opens up to about 50 cubic-feet. Additionally, all of the passenger seats fold flat, giving you plenty of space for large cargo..
The Encore GX comes standard with front-wheel drive across all trim levels, but all-wheel drive is an available upgrade on all trim levels. Each Encore GX has an automatic transmission - a continuously variable automatic in front-wheel drive models and a 9-speed automatic for all-wheel drive. The engine of the Encore GX is dependent on the drivetrain, with a 1.2-liter Turbo Gas standard for Encore GX’s with front-wheel drive, and a 1.3-liter Turbo Gas for those who opt for all-wheel drive. Regardless of your selections, you’ll find that the Encore GX delivers plenty of power for commutes and road trips alike.

A Brief History of the Encore GX
The Encore GX premiered at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2019, with models first available for purchase in 2020. The midsize crossover is situated between its siblings, the Encore and Envision in size, but is not designed to compete nor replace either model. The Buick Encore GX is a continuation of Buick’s repositioning as a more luxurious brand with premium amenities in each vehicle and new, modern designs.
